Space to think & process.

What is Counselling?

A safe space where you can think and talk. To process your experience.

It’s a different kind of relationship with another person, one that is all about receiving empathy, about another person really trying to understand your experience without overlaying it with their own. And a lack of judgement - a place where anything can be said.

  • By offering a different kind of relationship, characterised by empathy and a lack of judgement, counselling gives you a safe place to explore and understand your experience and who you are.

  • Increasing your awareness of who you are and how you ‘work’ can give you choices about your life and more control.

  • The goal of counselling is to begin to accept who we are. Counsellors accept clients without judgement and we hope you can develop the same sense of yourself.

Counselling Your Way

There are many different ways to engage with therapy. I offer counselling by the most common ways - phone, online and face to face.

The different ways can suit different people. They each work in slightly different ways. I am certified to work across each medium. You may have a sense of which one you would prefer. If not, it’s something we can talk about.

Whichever you choose or prefer at first, you’re not stuck with it. Where appropriate, if it fits your lifestyle to switch and change between mediums during our work, we can do that. I am a client-focussed counsellor and that’s why I offer counselling your way.

Face To Face

You can choose for us to meet face to face. I work at St John’s Counselling in Bromsgrove.

Online

Online counselling is increasingly popular because it fits easily into modern life. I am trained as an online counselling therapist.

Phone

Phone can suit you if you prefer to stay in your own environment or avoid eye contact. Or find being around other people uncomfortable. I am certified to offer phone counselling.

“I believe that providing a safe place, with empathy and without judgement, can help you process your experience. And enable you to better manage and respond to it.”
